NEWS CENTER – President of the Federated Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, stated that a historic chapter has begun following the announcement of the decisions made at the PKK’s 12th Congress.
In a statement, President Nechirvan Barzani of the Federated Kurdistan Region addressed the outcomes of the PKK’s congress and shared his views on the declared decisions.
Nechirvan Barzani said, “This decision is a historic development that will open the doors to a new era in the region. This step, taken upon the call of Mr. Öcalan is a sign of political maturity. It provides a strong foundation for dialogue, coexistence, and peace throughout Turkey and the entire region. The time has come. Eyes are now on the necessary and realistic responses to this historic step. This opportunity marks an important beginning to ending decades of violence and suffering and steering the region toward a new path of progress.”
Barzani expressed his appreciation for the role played by AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the process, stressing: “The Kurdistan Region, as always, supports all efforts to resolve issues through peaceful means. We hope that this initiative will mark the beginning of a lasting transformation. We are ready to provide all necessary support and cooperation to ensure the success of this historic opportunity.”
